What is Media

What is media? 19/10/23

Media is so much things like..

Podcast-Radios-Electronics-Posters-Billboards-etc

We consume media every single day. I mostly consume YouTube. I spend around 3 to 4 hours a day or even more. We did a task for school. We made a scratch about Media ( Mine was made last minute so its really bad )  We first had a discussion about all the types of Media that we use every day. Then we were told to make our scratch. I was working with my friend Hadassah but then I exited the page so then it got all deleted. So then I had to make a new one in less than 5 mins.

Here it is..

I know it bad 😭 but I had no time..

Would you make a scratch?

Tread lightly

13/09/2023 Tread lightly

Hello everyone,

Today we went to the Tread lightly caravan and did activities. We were in groups of 6 or 5. In my group there was Ifalemi, Loiloi, Ayyan, Rayyan, and Zaynab. We did four activities all together about Electricity, Bugs, Our planet, and trash.

Electricity

Electricity was the first activity I did. There were two things we could do. The first one was a light bulb station where you had to grab a — to make the light bulbs to turn on. The second station had an exercise bike. There was a router that had three things plugged in. A Hairdryer, Sander, and a Lamp. You had to peddle on the exercise bike to make the items work. My favourite part about the electricity station was the bike!! It was so much fun turning on the switches and seeing what would turn on.

Bees

There was a microscope where we saw living worms and dead bees. Did you know that worms don’t have any ears, nose, and eyes? Apparently their slime helps them smell!! We saw fours bees. two bumble bees and two regular bees. The bumble bees were fluffy. The female bees have stingers. And do all the work. Sometimes bees put some hector in there mouth then give it to another bee that gives it to another then the last bee brings it back to the hive. Bees produce honey and without bees we wouldn’t have any fruits. So instead of cutting down and plucking out flowers try to grow them. And if you have to cut down a tree try to re-grow it.

Here are some photos.

Trash

Our teacher Sarah was talking about how there is so much trash in our eco system, Seas, Lakes, etc. At the trash activity there was a drain felled with rubbish. All the rubbish that gets into the drain will find its way to the beach. A fish could inhale a piece of rubbish thinking its food and die. There are so many people out there that enjoy sea food. But with all fish instinct there wont be any more seafood for people to enjoy because people are too lazy to put their rubbish in a BIN. We learnt a chant “only rain down the drain” meaning that there shouldn’t be any trash in the drain only rain.

Here are some photos.

Our planet

For this activity we sat on the floor with Coco (Christina) the activity was about recycling and what goes in what bin. There was also a model showing rubbish in 1 day 10 years and 100 years all the food turned into dust. Most of the  plastic stayed the same but some plastic got rusted or got smashed.

Here are some photos

At the end we made a pledge that we would start doing.

Here is mine..

Thanks for reading my writing.

Did you learn something new?

The new song

Kia Ora,

I did a reading activity for school today. I had a buddy named Hadassah she is one of my friends. Our activity didn’t take as long as I thought it would. The story was about a man named Filipo (he is an uncle) who came to visit his family. Everyone came for a gathering to spend time with him. After they cleaned up and left Uncle Filipo picked up his guitar and started to play a tune (he is in a band). One of Filipo’s granddaughter and Grandson Mia and started to dance and sing. Pretending they are holding buckets and tapping them. It reminds them of their aunt. Who loved the beach. She would bring them to the beach to have fun and play with buckets and sand. They kept dancing and sing until the adults noticed it they started to take pictures and cheer them on. the end.

Thanks for reading my blog post goodbye.

Martial arts

Kia Ora,

For homework my teacher gave us (My class) a research project. We had to pick one topic and research about it. I picked Chess. There were no books about Chess in our library so I decided  to go with Martial arts instead. Lucky enough there were two books one about Taekwondo and Kung fu. We spent around 2 to 3 weeks researching. We put all the research we knew into a doc. We needed about 4 to 5 subheading/Questions. Then we started making our presentations. It was really fun to do and also tricky. It was really hard not just to copy the books but in the end I made it. We were also learning about plagiarising and how you could get fined/sued for it. So what our teacher said we should do instead is read the book and then write down what we learnt. After weeks of work here is my presentation.

Before you say that’s nothing I did more than that but it’s just planning.

Thats all for today I hope you learnt something new.

Would you do Martial arts?

Holiday recount

Kia Ora bloggers,

Today we were talking about what we did in the holidays!!

During the holidays I sat on my bed and listened to music.

I did more than just Liston to music obviously.

But I mostly just listened to music.

I made a google drawing of a pair of headphones to show you.

Here it is.

Hope you liked it!!

Thats all I have goodbye!!

Te Raumati

Hello bloggers,

Today on Tuesday 27 June 2023 we were investigating peoples blogs!! We had to pick one person and spy on them. I picked Te Raumati she is a year eight female. There will be a google drawing to show you much more information. It was not that hard to do all tho… It was kinda hard to find out things about her because she didn’t really talk about herself on her blog other than her About me post.

Thanks for taking a look on my blog.
