Whaea Terri 🇨🇰

Whaea Terri  7/12/23

Kia Ora bloggers,

My teacher Mrs Patel had been sick so we had relievers. Whaea Terri was one of them. She brought us Legos, Turing Tumble, and Her dogs. I did Turing Tumble and Moral Machine. What is a Turing Tumble and a Moral Machine? Here is a full description about both of them.

-Turing Tumble

-Moral Machine

Turing Tumble

A Turing Tumble contains, A game book, Game Pieces, Marbles, And a game stand. The game book gives you instructions on what you do. For example you have to make a pattern with your marbles. Me and Loiloi were in a group. We made it to level five and were going to go on level six but then had to pack up.

Moral Machine

Moral Machine is a website where you get told a scenario about electric cars. A problem people are having with electric car’s is when their handbrake fails and there are people everywhere. What does the car do? We all worked alone and had to choose between who we would save in this situation. Here is the link to the site if you want to try it for yourself https://www.moralmachine.net. I mostly saved Women than Men, Younger people than Older people, and care more about my passengers than others. Its really easy and you don’t have to sign up for anything.

Did you know about Moral Machine?

Kick Start (Summer Learning Journey) 🚦

Summer Learning Journey 4/12/23

Kia Ora Bloggers,

Today for cyber smart we talked about the summer learning journey. The summer learning journey is a program for kids to do during the holidays. Today activity is called “Kick Start” all we did was go on a website called Crayion. I searched Blue Superhero and this is what came up.

Once you have your image you download it and upload it onto a google drawing. Describe your superhero and tell your viewers every single part of it. Here is my All about me poster on my superhero.

There was nothing hard about making the all about me poster.

I enjoyed making the text boxes and writing the description.

Hope you enjoyed

Bye.

Haunted Mystery 🥀

Haunted Mystery

I finally have the house all to myself! My parents are on holiday for their 23rd anniversary. I was the one who convinced them to go. They never do anything for their anniversary so I planned a holiday for them. I am currently on my phone scrolling through my best friend (Evelyn) feed. She is also on holiday. So I have nothing to do all week. *Ding Dong* That’s weird, I didn’t order anything. “Coming!” *thump* *Thump* *THUMP*  I open the door but there isn’t anyone there, only an envelope. The envelope is red and has a golden outline. There are bold gold letters spelling out “The Bomb” “Hello?” I say. No reply. I take the envelope inside and open it. “Hello Emery, You have been invited to a pool party down Summary street house 3” I squeal with excitement. Finally I have something to do! The whole time my parents were gone I had nothing but Netflix and food to comfort me.

I have finally arrived at the house address. The house has two stories. Someone rich properly lives here. The house has two waterfalls, and a glass pathway to the door. I knock *Knock knock* I am waiting and waiting but no one answers the door. At this point I have been standing outside for five minutes. *Creek* The door seems to be open. I walk in “Hello?” There is no one here! I get startled by the  The door closing behind me with a big thump. I am walking around searching for the pool, But then I feel a sharp pain in my back. I have been stabbed.

I gasp. I am in a room strapped in a chair with duct tape on my mouth. I am trying to scream for help but nothing seems to work. I am breathing uncontrollably. My memory starts to jog back. I was stabbed in the back. How could I let this happen? What if I get murdered? The thoughts in my head get louder and louder,

Until I feel the presence of a mysterious figure standing behind me. They rip off the duct tape off of my face. It stings. “HELP WHO ARE YOU!” Instead of replying they ignore me. I fell down at the attempt to squirm out of the chair. “I am the bomb. You have Three challenges to complete if you want to get out of here” This can’t be happening. Out of all the people in the world.. Me. The figure unties me and leaves the room. There is another envelope with the same red and gold. I open the envelope. “There is a key in this room. You have 10 minutes to find it. If you don’t then you are going to die” If you don’t then you are going to die Those words reply in my head as I am frantically trying to search for the key. There is a box in the top right of the room’s wall. YES! I thought, grabbing the chair I jump up and down trying to grab the box. It falls down cracking open. The key falls out. *Ching* “finally!” the door opens. “You made it” I am looking around frantically to see where the voice is coming from, Until I found out what it was, a speaker. Before the speaker could say anything else I run out of the room. Yanking the doorknob open. I have escaped.. Finally

Water Survival 🌊

Kia Ora bloggers,

For today’s writing we are writing a recount about swimming. Since I did not go swimming this year I am going to be talking about Water Survival. Basically meaning I am going to be telling you guys how to survive in water. I went swimming last year so I still have some knowledge about how to survive.

Getting off a boat.

When getting off a boat from an emergency or just in general you want to make sure you are covering your nose with one hand and your other near your shoulder. Fall on your back.

Life Jackets

Before you ever go on a boat always make sure there are life Jackets on board. A life jacket can save your life, If you fall off a boat and don’t know how to swim. When wearing a life jacket you can pull a strap to make you come up to the surface.

Slow breaths

If you’re ever stranded in the ocean/sea/lake/etc, You always want to take slow steady breaths. If you’re stressed and freaking out Try to breathe slowly. Your energy will last much longer in case you need to swim away fast. The sun will make you tired and sweaty because of the salt in the water. Its better to stay calm and face away from the sun.

Help

LOOK FOR HELP. If there are boats anywhere wave your hands in the air and try to stand out. If you are wearing a life jacket then you will automatically stand out. DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO.

Here is a video explaining everything I just said:

Thats all the tips and tricks I have for today thanks for checking out my blog 🙂

Smart Searching #2 🖥

Kia Ora bloggers,

Today for CyberSmart we did Smart Searching Again!

We talked about searching about the right thing.

And making a sentence shorter and easier to type.

We did three activities.

First activity was searching up something and seeing where the title, Snippet, Knowledge page, and URL was.

Second activity was Highlighting the key words in a sentence a searching them up to get an answer.

The third activity was Understanding your results from the second activity’s answers.

The hardest part about doing the slides was the third activity. I hated searching up more things again and again.

The easiest thing was doing the second slides.

Here are my slides.

Thanks for checking out my blog post bye.

Do you know how to smart search.

Smart Searching 14/11/2023

Kia Ora bloggers,

Today for cyber smart we were learning how to do smart search. Basically meaning we were learning how to make a sentence smaller and easier to type. For example… What is the most liked flavored ice cream? Now we have to shorten it by finding the key words. Most liked Ice cream? its much smaller and easier to type.

What was enjoyed?

I enjoyed everything but what I enjoyed the most was properly screenshot and typing/shorting things. It was the easiest thing to do in my opinion.

What I found challenging.

I found nothing challenging at all. But if I had to pick something I found a bit more “harder” then the other things to do I would say was finding the key words for one of the activities. The reason why was because I hated finding the right things to search to see if they are the same as the original search.

Here are my Smart Searching Slides-

Did you find my slides helpful?

What is Diwali?🕯

Hello Bloggers,

Today we are learning about DIWALI!!🕯Our teacher Mrs Patel told us that Krisha (my classmate) is going to be sharing us a story about how Diwali was created. The story was about Rama and Sita. Here is a video explaining the story (=

What is Diwali?

Diwali is a celebration for Hindu, Jaini, and Sikhi etc. Diwali starts on November 12 2023 and Ends on November 17 2023. It lasts for five long days. Diwali’s festival is about Lightness over Darkness.

What happens before Diwali?

Before Diwali people clean inside and outside of their houses. Not just a simple clean out. They clean EVERYTHING like I am talking about the roof and outside their backyard!! For Diwali people need clean clothes. So obviously they need to go shopping!! One of the best things about Diwali is the FEAST. Preparing the feast would properly be my favorite part. I love to help cook!!

What happens during Diwali?

Diwali starts with people greeting and decorating their praying areas. They use fruits and flowers. Once everyone is done praying they go outside. People light lamps and candles around their houses. At last it’s time to eat. They have a huge feast and eat A LOT!! After eating people light fireworks. Mostly children.

I made a Diwali themed craft here it is (=

Do you like it? If so I found it on google. All you have to search is Diwali diya craft.

Do you celebrate Diwali?

Robots 🦾

Robots 211/23

Kia Ora bloggers,

We had a sub teacher on week 3. Her name was Whaea Terry. She had a lot of robots we could play around with so she gave us two activities. The activities were. The differences between Ed bots and Edison bots. We had to pick a buddy to work with. My buddy was Asmah. She was working on the Ed bots while I was working on the Edison bots. The second activity was making a robot. We first made a layout on how we want our robot to look like. We had to color it in and label all of the things it can do. Then we showed it to Whaea Terry to see if it was good enough to make it into a robot. The materials we had were paper and cardboard forks. Here is my finished robot (:

Thanks for Checking/Reading my blog post!!

Have you made a robot?.

Pixel Art 🎨

Kia Ora,

Today for CyberSmart we followed instructions. What do you mean by following instructions? What I mean is we had to watch a video tutorial and recreate image. There were three videos we had to pick from. Here they are:

The first video is a tutorial on how to draw a minion.

The second is a tutorial on Mosaic art.

The third is a tutorial on how to create pixel art.

I chose Pixel art!! I have done Pixel art before so it was really easy for me. But I did learn how to make the square layout. The square layout is the boxes that make pixel art pixel art. When you make a new google sheet the boxes are wide and aren’t the right shape for pixel art. I enjoyed mostly everything but I definitely liked filling in the boxes with color the most, because I could see my image taking shape.

I found making the boxes the right shape the most challenging. I was also helping one of my classmates, so I had to do two things at once. The person who was explaining included some shortcuts but.. For me the shortcuts were not working at all and the size of the layout was super small. I couldn’t make anything so I decided to cheat and use an old pixel art layout. Here is my Pixel art image.

I MADE A BUNNY!! It is really small I agree but it’s so cute!!

Here is the video I TRIED to follow

Have you ever made Pixel art? What did you make?

Kia Ora bloggers,

I wasn’t at school on Tuesday so I don’t really know what we did but I did ask Blane (My classmate) What they did.

Basically they had to complete a slide. Slide 2. There was more slides but they are all instructions.

Here are my slides. I skipped most of them except Slide 2 and 3.

They also had to make their own newspaper.

They had to add pictures and a catchy title.

Here is my Newspaper-
